Borussia Dortmund will travel to the WWK ARENA on Saturday as they take on Augsburg in their second Bundesliga match of the 2020/21 campaign.

The BVB will be looking to build upon their opening day victory over Borussia Monchengladbach – a match in which they recorded a 3-0 result – and will be looking to continue their challenge for the title.

Indeed, Augsburg have also started their campaign off rather well, having recorded a 3-1 victory of their own against Union Berlin in their opener. Therefore, a great contest could be on the cards for bettors who use sportwetten24.com to get the best available odds for the fixture.

Dortmund have plenty of attacking power in their line up, which should prove far too much for Augsburg to handle.

Whilst all the talk surrounding the BVB at the moment is about Jadon Sancho’s future, with a move to Manchester United continue to dominate headlines, the club are adamant that he will be remaining at the Signal Iduna Park Stadium for the foreseeable future.

Of course, he will be available for the game against Augsburg, as will the likes of Jude Bellingham, Thomas Meunier and Reinier Jesus – who have all further strengthened a top Bundesliga side.

Giovanni Reyna and Erling Braut Haaland have long been touted as stars now and for the future of Borussia Dortmund and both continued their fine form with goals in their opening day victory over Monchengladbach.

Form Guide

Dortmund certainly enjoy a fast start to their campaign, as they have managed to win the last six opening-day fixtures in a row, whilst their record of extending the winning form into the following encounter has happened on four of the last six occasions.

The BVB are in excellent form, as well. Lucien Favre’s side managed to put five goals past Duisburg in the first round of the DFB-Pokal and will be full of confidence regarding their chances of taking three points at the WWK ARENA on Saturday.

However, Augsburg will have their own degree of confidence following their win against Union Berlin in their first Bundesliga match of the 2020/21 campaign, as they produced that result after scoring a win in the DFB-Pokal a week prior.

Nonetheless, their home form is hardly stellar, as they have gone seven games without a win in league competition when playing in the Bundesliga. Dortmund, on the other hand, have managed to record six away wins in their last six.

Team News

Dortmund could look to use Reyna once again following his exploits in the opening game against Borussia Monchengladbach, as Marco Reus still remains some way off being fully fit.

Thorgan Hazard had to limp off in that game, though and is a doubt therefore Raphael Guerreiro could come into the starting XI.

Haaland’s scoring exploits are well-documented, however his brace last weekend put him in touching distance of Robert Lewandowski’s impressive figures. The Norwegian bagged his 15th Bundesliga goal at the weekend of 2020, therefore just one behind the Poland international’s total for the calendar year.

Borussia Dortmund possible starting lineup:

Burki; Can, Hummels, Akanji; Meunier, Bellingham, Witsel, Guerreiro; Sancho, Reyna; Haaland
