A win over Hoffenheim made it three continuous wins for Dortmund in the Bundesliga. It was an early headed goal from Haaland which gave them the lead. It was squared before the end of the first half. In the Second half goals from Reus and an own goal by David Raum sealed the match. Although there was constant pressure from Hoffenheim till the end, Dortmund dealt with it conveniently.
Haaland’s goal took his tally to 56 goals in 57 Bundesliga matches. He was taken off in the 63rd minute because of an injury. It is said to be a muscular injury which needs further examination. He is the hottest property right now in the market and is monitored by many top clubs like Real Madrid, Barca, United, City. It is still not clear whether he will continue at Dortmund.

Dortmund hosts Bayer Leverkusen on 6th of Feb. Leverkusen are currently a position below BVB with a gap of eight points. Leverkusen started the calendar year with a 2-2 draw against FC Union Berlin. They found themselves trailing in the 50th minute of the game when Promel gave Berlin the lead. It was J. Tah who scored the equaliser for Leverkusen in the 84th minute which helped them rescue a point.
This was followed by two consecutive victories against Monchengladbach and FC Augsburg. It was a second-half entertainer against Monchengladbach where we saw 3 goals which ended 2-1 in favor of Leverkusen. With Augsburg, it was a value for money for a few home fans as they not only saw their team score 5 goals but also their forwards brag a hattrick. Diaby was in a good run and managed to create spaces for himself and was at the position when needed.
Dortmund will want to win this game and increase their lead over Leverkusen for the 2nd spot. Simultaneously they will look to keep up the pace and pressurize Munich at the top. BVB are six points behind the leaders and will hope that they drop points in the coming games. Apart from the DFB Pokal loss against St Pauli, they are doing well in the Bundesliga. Dortmund won the last edition of DFB Pokal. It is shocking that they have been eliminated from the tournament in the Round of 16, that too by a team which competes in the second-tier.
