Dortmund’s new signing is determined to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho

Following his move from Manchester City, Jayden Braaf is determined to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and make his imprint at Borussia Dortmund.

This summer, Borussia Dortmund has been highly active in the transfer market, completing numerous major additions.

Jayden Braaf, on the other hand, was a surprise signing. In May, the youthful winger left Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund, signing a three-year contract with the Black and Yellows.

Braaf made the decision to join Borussia Dortmund because he understands the club provides opportunities for young players to develop and play.

He is now eager to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and demonstrate his abilities.

In an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten, Braaf said:

“I’m very happy to be here. BVB is a really great club, the training is good. I can really only say positive things about the club. I want to show what I can do as soon as possible.”

“I think it’s exactly the right club for young players. I’ve seen in the past that many young players have been given the chance to develop here. Jadon Sancho also came to Dortmund from Manchester City to take the next step here.

“Or Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, he is also a young guy who is now playing in the first-team. So it wasn’t really a hard choice to decide to come to Dortmund. Simply because I saw that they like to work with young players here and push them.”

Early performances for the Manchester City youth teams saw Jayden Braaf garner parallels to Jadon Sancho. While Braaf considers it an honour to be likened to the England international, he believes they are two distinct players.

“The comparison is a privilege first of all, because Jadon Sancho is a very good player who has already achieved a lot. When people say, ‘You play a bit like Sancho,’ that’s nice to hear, of course. But at the end of the day, I’m Jayden Braaf. And I want to show what Jayden Braaf is capable of. He has his qualities, I have my qualities. We are two different players.”

In the past, reports in England indicated that people at Manchester City were unhappy with Braaf’s demeanour. However, the winger believes that those who are familiar with him will discover that he is not a difficult character.

“The people who say that don’t really know me. If you get to know me personally, you’ll find that I’m a quiet guy, I make jokes, I laugh a lot and I’m really not a difficult character.”

Braaf has big goals, and he is eager to make his mark in the Bundesliga!
